This is a diorama of a harbor scene and the Ship "Creif" and the Tug "Triton" created by Ship in Bottle book writer, Theodor Carstensen. The Creif has three masts and is flying the flag of Germany. The Tug "Triton" also flies the German flag. It has two decks and a large black smokestack with bellowing white/grey smoke. The city has seven large colorful buildings with multiple windows in each. There is also a large windmill and a tall lighthouse. In the water is a red buoy with a "T" on one side and a "C" on the other. This is the typical way the artist Theodor Carstensen identified his work using his initials. The bottle is also sealed in the artist's usual manner with a cork wrapped with aluminum foil.
Theodor Carstensen is a co-author of the book "Der Perfekte Buddelschiffbauer" and very similar ships to this model are shown in his book. More in formation on him can be found at: http://folkartinbottles.com/artists/artists-a-d/11-theodor-carstensen
